Investment Policy Limit Checker

The Limit Checker tests a holdings file against the limits in an investment policy and shows, for each limit, whether it is compliant, in warning or in breach, with the measured value, the headroom and the holdings that drive it. It runs the Acclimetry rule engine in your browser, so the file never leaves this page.

Runs entirely in your browser. Your holdings file never leaves this page.

2. Limits

How it works

  1. Load a CSV of holdings: one row per position, with at least a name and a market value in one base currency. Add issuer, class, rating, country, sector or liquidity columns to unlock more limits.
  2. Switch on the limits your policy sets and type its numbers: the hard bound, and a warning bound if the policy has one.
  3. Run the check. Each limit returns one of the result states Acclimetry uses in production, a reason code and the largest contributors.

The checks are the product's own rule templates, the same code that runs in Acclimetry, tested on every build against the product's 108 worked cases.

What the result means

Compliant means the measured value sits inside every bound. Warning means it has crossed a warning bound but not the hard bound. Breach means it is beyond the hard bound.

A limit that cannot be measured is not evaluated, never compliant: a holding without a market value, a bond without a rating when the rule leaves unrated holdings unevaluated, or a missing liquidity input. See why not evaluated is not compliant.

What it does not do

The Checker evaluates one file at one moment. It does not keep a history, open cases, record waivers or approvals, or reconcile your data: that is what Acclimetry does for every portfolio.

Some policy limits need more than one template or data the file cannot carry, for example the UCITS 5/10/40 aggregate test or an “any sector at most X%” rule. The restriction pages say which limits a template expresses and which it does not.

Your data

The file is read by your browser and evaluated by code that runs on this page. No holdings, values or results are sent anywhere. The optional PDF snapshot asks for a work email and organisation; only those details and your consent are sent, and the PDF itself is made in your browser.

Questions

Which file format does the Checker read?

A CSV with a header row, separated by commas, semicolons or tabs. Decimal commas are read when the file uses semicolons. The column guide lists the headers it recognises in English and Spanish.

Can I check several portfolios at once?

Yes. Add a portfolio column. Limits are then measured on the whole file by default, or on each portfolio separately, and the household check measures one issuer across all of them.

Does it give a compliance opinion?

No. It applies the limits you enter to the data you load. Interpreting a policy, its exemptions and its denominators remains the responsibility of whoever owns the policy.
